<< PC growth may not be endless and constant; and the kind of PC's most will buy as well as the leading vendor could change. >>

DELL just overtook IBM and slid into the #2 slot. They will be #1 soon enough. DELL has worldwide market share of 7%. Lots of room for growth. DELL has had several quarters in a row with triple-digit growth in servers.

<< Even Gates is trying to convince people that MSFT could be a market follower instead of the leader in 5 - 10 years. >>

Sorry, what has that got to do with DELL?

<< I would want to see some real evidence that DELL will lead the pack for the next few years (not just quarters) before I went long at these prices. >>

But the point of the stock market is to place your bet when it isn't obvious that DELL will maintain their frenetic pace. Or when it is obvious to you, but not to others. In a few years when it is clear that DELL has taken the top spot, you will have to pay 3 times as much!

<< Let's agree that DELL's prospects are open to question >>

I don't think I can do that, but you can try to convince me. Just what is going to make DELL's earnings come screeching to a halt?
