Paul: I'm not a techie and so I really don't have a clue. As you might know LSI is really kicking some serious butt in networking. As you may not know LSI is for the first time that I can recall being mentioned in other companies' conference calls as "coming on" in the networking area and potentially posing some serious problems for some of the incumbent high-end networking chip vendors. shane.

Paul: Take a look at this: lsilogic.com especially: lsilogic.com Though available in March of 1999 (yes 9) this looks like the kind of breakthrough that will hurt people like perhaps VTSS down the road - much cheaper and capable of doing just the kind of very high end stuff that those guys are capable of doing. I'm no expert but I say LSI profiles this core in its timeline for 1998 in the annual report for next year (that is, it is a significant thing like the Integra and the ATMizer etc etc...) Again this telecom type of stuff is about 2 dimensions away from my level of expertise. Shane (anyone notice how diligent these days LSI has been with product intros - they not only have the news release, but a technical background, a product release, a whitepaper, and then best part for me a slide show. Thus there is information for the different levels of web dude and dudette. Maybe LSI is slowly getting the message - give us information - this keeping us in the dark thing does not do your stock any good...)
