DuPont won't be buying Monsanto anytime soon. (eom)

You are right. Monsanto is merging with American Home Product. DuPont is Monsanto's competitor in Life Sciences, and it was reported in Buisiness Week 10 days ago that DuPont is looking to buy Amgen for $ 95/share cash. That explains the runup on Amgen at that time. But things have quieted down since. With Monsanto's aggresive move, who knows what DuPont might do now.

The thread is tired and the stock is going nowhere. This might be a good sign. Out of ashes comes new life.
