John Y Wang,

Cherry Corp, your employer, does not have the capability of making microprocessors. This leave you zero experience on high performance multi-layer interconnects. More interconnects means less dense metal lines/trenches, means more space between them, means less parasitic capacitances. If these do not help, why are Intel and AMD spent so much money on interconnects? Why not keeping the rest of metal layers the same pitch as the first. This would save a layer of two and increase cycle time.
