Todd,
"This scares me. I'm out for the short term."
You and apparently a lot of other people, too. Drive companies down today again. But, please, refresh my memory, what happened on 9Nov97?

Not implying that you (or anyone for that matter) holds WDC but why would an IBM announcement imply negatives for WDC - after all WDC has access to any new IBM technology at least for desktop drives. What's happening now is market-based fear and I suppose a realization that the dd industry is still sometime aways from stellar growth (duh! as if we did not know that). Many people are doing the indiscriminate panic stricken selling thing these days.

Still looking for WDC to have positive earnings no earlier than the March q of 1999 (with a very slight chance of +ve earnings in the Dec. q of 1998). Hoping to be at around 25 by Dec but do realize that if we are still hanging around the 16 area by fall it is a good chance we will be in the 12-14 area by Dec (tax-loss selling).

Jan 1, 2000 is still my pay-day.
