IBM announced they will "build" security software with Equifax as opposed to using Verisign. Why would they do this when so many E-commerce players were moving forward with Verisign, creating a consistent technology which seems better for users? Is this the ominous major vendor action we have feared which would compete directly with Verisign? Is IBM strategically entering the security software vendor game as opposed to embedding available products?
