I think we've been through this patent drill before, must be that time of year. IBM leads the patent race with about 1600 last year, that's about 30 a week. The question is really does IBM, Dell or any company patent technology or process that allows them to protect their business or make money from others' business? A single killer patent can turn out to be pretty valuable, and many thousands of valueless patents are granted every year. The value can only be determined in some business context.
