Why become a citizen of a country you abhor????? I will say it one more time I am totally disgusted by people who trash this country but try their hardest to get a visa or become a citizen If your home country is better...STAY THERE I dont care if that makes me an Arrogant American. I would say that no matter the country

AS the world around you changes, so do the voices. True. But nevertheless, sometimes the voices don't cause change. Take some African countries. Sure, the early USA utilized slave labor. But the slavers who brought the slaves over didn't have to go deep into the jungle to round up slaves. The slaves were already captives, captured by rival African tribes, and sold to the slave ship owners right on the beach in most cases, from what I understand. Of course that still doesn't make it okay for the slave ship owners. But there is no reason to not believe it: Africa STILL has countries in which tribal peoples, whole families, are captured, separated, and sold as slaves. Sudan comes to mind. This is happening NOW, and has been observed and documented by various international observers/organizations. Then there is Rwanda, where racial genocide goes on. Women and children and old people were not even safe inside churches: the murderers came inside at least one church, machetes swinging. Of course we've seen racial genocide in Europe currently, in Bosnia. These examples aren't "old order changeth", at least not yet: This is "current events". I've read a little bit about H1 visas, and the way the program works, it seems there are many sides to the issue. But from what I've read, if I were a foreign national living in the US on a soon-to-be expired H1 visa, it would seem to be a positive factor that the number of H1 visas has been increased. The bottom line seems to be, lots of people seem to love living in the USA, and the H1 visa is just one way of staying here in the USA. I concur heartily with Lisa: America -- Love it or Leave it! (some people just ain't happy unless they're bitching. -G-)
