Since when? The balance sheet and the p/l are completely tied together. Anything, thats ANYTHING, the company does that results in disposition of assets, whether it is inventory or options, results in an impact to the p/l. You are wrong.

By the way, Intel's balance sheet for the last quarter showed $16.2 Billion in current asset, which is where most securities are categorized. Not only are you wrong about the flow of the transaction, but you are wrong about your facts.
