(NASDAQ:PENC; PENCW), announced today that its PowerStream Division has received the first in a series of scheduled quantity releases from L-3 Communications (NYSE:LLL - news) for PowerStream's proprietary Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) product. This $500,000 order for UPS units is part of Pen's earlier announced $12 million Letter of Intent from L-3 Communications for their fixed wireless access system contract in Eastern Europe. An initial shipment of 2,500 units was made in the first quarter to satisfy L-3's beta test system requirements. This new release is for more than 11,000 units to be shipped over an estimated 4 month period beginning in August of this year. New releases are expected that could significantly increase monthly volumes, as the installation of fixed wireless access systems increase for L-3 Communications and its customers.
