Pierre, I belive that the actor your are looking for is Burt Lancaster. The movie On the Beach was filmed in Victoria and most of the beach scenes were done on Mornington Beach - which is not far from Melbourne. Now , as this has nothing to do with OE, - who was the
girl in the famous beach scene from that movie. Was it Deb Kerr?
Its a good movie and you will enjoy it.
John

There will be no "anew".

Those on nuclear submarines will survive (healthy) until their food runs out. Nuclear submarines use the tremendous energy from the reactor to break water down, with the oxygen extracted for producing breathing air. Radioactive fallout will be distributed throughout the world. In fact, those that die soon will die more mercifully. And El Nino will be small potatos compared to what happens to our atmosphere. It will be difficult to grow food. That is the big fallacy. Who needs a bomb shelter when there's no food? You don't need to rent the movie. You'd just get your hopes up. Imagine trying to live thru chemotherapy while starving, and you'll have a pretty good comparison. Somehow the idiots carrying those mock missiles thru the streets don't get that. If you pay close attention, you'll notice that some of the streets are DIRT. You're in a third world hellhole. They make very bad decisions there.
