Freeus, right you are! The trick is to let profits run in such a way that they are insulated. No doubt, many DELLionaires have locked profits with options, specifically buying puts. The diversified investor may have found puts within indices which adequately mirror the portfolio. As market trends become apparent -- and these should have prior to Mother's Day -- the investor can ease the "profit run" strategy. Unfortunately, several years of consistent conditioning (and, peer pressure) have contributed to a different style of investing.
