Junnie...

Yep! That's right! This is one of the problems associated with the way the MS files are restricted to 255 symbols.

However, you can let the scan run in the background and still use your computer. It doesn't have to be lost time, usually. If you have a fast machine, it can probably do the scan in minutes anyway. Go get a can of pop! <G>.

You could use the intelligent assistant to automatically perform a scan on all stocks.

When you do scans on 10,000+ stocks, it is not just a few minutes. Make it hours depending on the complexity of your scan.

So what do you do? you perform your scans in your data vendor's program. Quotes Plus and TC2000 allow this, then you only convert the results to a metastock directory. Then you are looking at maybe 100-600 stocks not 10,000+.

I like strong stocks, so I run a scan on stocks with RS>80, float<50M, Avg vol>50,000, MACD(13,34,89)>0, etc. And this does take minutes. You would even have time to setup a group/portfolio in WOW. I don't know why WOW is crippled and does not allow other formats to be used for groups, people should speak up and let them know how they feel about this.
