<Cyrix found it's niche with Wyse today. Thin client CPU's (perfect for their combinde CPU offering, since 2 chips = a whole thing client) > Thanks Steve, do you have a URL? Intel knows with its head that the CPU market will segment, but not yet with its heart. The smaller guys have no choice - they're small, so they have to focus on niche segments. The bad news for Intel is that when they finally get around to segment focus there will be entrenched players to contend with. Ever read the book "Inside the Tornado"? Well the CPU tornado is over and we are on "main street." There's still lots of money to be made on main street - but the key to sucess is focus, focus, focus.
