I haven't seen any ADSL chip announced by Cirrus, but then it will take some time for it to become a high-volume market. There was a Cirrus press release today about the release of V90 modem firmware. This is a high volume market, although extremely competitive, in which Cirrus must fight to keep overall revenues at acceptable levels. With Windows 98 and Y2K concerns PC demand looks pretty good going forward, which makes for better chances for a tech stocks recovery; even though Cirrus is touting reduced PC dependence, you can't deny that mass storage, the core business, is virtually 100% dependent on PC demand). I am concerned about the weakness in the stock (which seems to be the same or worse than other semis), but the most important question is whether Cirrus is being succesful with the introduction of key new products. These are complex products and I am particularly concerned about product delays, given that there haven't been statements yet from the company that these products are actually sampling (I'm thinking about the DVD-drive silicon, the integrated hard disk silicon, and MediaMax, the graphics/audio/modem chip).
