Does anyone know if brokers charge commission on that as two trades?

They only charge one commission per order (at least Fidelity and E*Trade do that) - I'm sure there would be complaints otherwise.

You shouldn't pay commissions on short sales. Also Fidelity will only charge one commission on a split trade if both (or all) done the same day.

But let's not talk about stocks-- let's bicker as that seems to be the new topic of this thread. Sure wish those of you are are engaged in the free-for-all would mark your subjects so that we could skip the posts!!! I can go home and listen to my kids if I want that type of crap! (Bickerers- do not come back at me here as I will not respond- ala Dale and Peters posts!)
