Raymond,

Interesting review by Mr. Bleich. The success of CyberDisplay will ultimately be determined by useability issues like those he discusses. Compact still cameras can't accommodate a large enough LCD screen for the photographer to assess aesthetic qualities of the shot; a virtual viewfinder with that capability will be a real selling point. In postview mode, instead of just checking the image framing you'll be able to inspect image detail; that will enhance real-time functionality of the camera. On non-autofocus models with a typical 35mm "contact-sized" LCD (~1.7" diagonal), difficulty gauging focus is another weakness. This is in addition to problems mentioned in the article - unsteadiness and washout resulting from the fact that a person with normal eyesight must hold a direct image (of any size) several inches away to examine it closely. The problem is how to get a large image from a small form factor - direct view LCD is not a solution, but for now they must work with what's available.

One of their technologies is CMOS image sensors, a lower-cost alternative to CCD.
