Generally speaking with a market at historically high P/Es; people buy stocks like PFE due to anticipated future earnings and earnings growth. In that respect, many drug companies fit the bill. PFE arguably has a very bright future and quite often those who buy on dips are rewarded in the future. Of course, the common disclaimer is that past results are no guarantee of future performance. The stock market is risky and currently has rather $#^%y internals. So while ST PFE could go down a little more IMHO I think the upside potential is tremendous. Do your own research and draw your own conclusions.

DaiS - some reasons to consider PFE in a down market.

Fortune ran an article May 25, identifying best defensive stocks if Fed raised interest rates...... not that the Fed has, but we're getting a similar affect ..... so you may want to read this article. The top 4 were: GE, Gillette, Merck & Pfizer

Wall Street is worried that Alan Greenspan will raise interest rates. So what if he does? It could be the buying opportunity of the year.

Pfizer down to low 100's is a real buying opportunity, if you've got the cash. (if you put in a limit order @ $100, you might get lucky!).
