Hey you ain't kiddin' Ramesh. A few of my Pakistani friends said they always spent more time in India than Pakistan when they go home,go figure.I believe they belong to the 'Ismaeli' group whatever the hell that means. I think their religious 'leader' is the Akha Khan who happened to live in Paris and is a multi millionaire businessman as well as a part time religious leader (nice 'racket' if you can get it-<gg>).I heard the Khan just married a German his 4th her 3rd or some such nonsense. I don't pretend to understand none of this but anyway this is all very interesting indeed to say the least.

Ramesh: Brilliant point! This may be obvious to Indians but it has not been brought up in this thread. Why is it that only Pakistan needs such a huge defense against India. Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka Myanmar, Afghanistan Iran, UAE etc are not losing any sleep waiting for an Indian incursion. But, you need to repeat this a million times in the ears of American policy makers and media people. Yet, they will not get it or will not want to get it. Why? It is simple. They created Pakistan to contain India's emergence. They armed Pakistan to maintain parity with India. They instigated Pakistan to get parts of India. The megalomaniac Pakistani generals danced to the tune of the Western nations, while Nehru and Patel devoted their energy to advance science and technology to build a modern India, instituting solid democratic institutions. Can you believe that Americans and Chinese are selling Pakistan arms at exorbitant prices in the name of "military aid" because Pakistan agreed to help Americans in fighting with Russians? Recently, Sarif admitted that helping Americans in their Afghan war with the Soviets was a big mistake. Pak generals retained power using their double face: pleasing a western world to get "military aid," using the acquired weaponry against India, and fomenting Pakistanis with anti-India tirade. Why should Pakistan have $56 bil debt? Most of this is to fund arms purchases. I feel sorry for fellow Pakistanis. Now one of the Pak dictators' sons Ayub Khan is telling the Westrn media that Americans offered "peanuts" and "lollypops" to prevent Pakistan from testing. The Paks have taken 50 years to understand the Western "help," while the astute Indian leaders knew about all these from day one and so wanted to build India on a policy of self-reliance and by Indians. Why have the American media remained virtually silent today on the Indo-Pak nuclear testing? This is because India is showing no emotions to Pakistani tests and is repeating 100 times that India wants peace with neighbours and means no harm to Pakistan, proposes peace plan, etc. The American media does not find this sensational for American public and such talks of peace from "Hindu-nationalists" are inconsistent with the stereotype the media have already fed the Americans.
