Al, to continue your thought on the PW conference . . .

If Dell does come out and say what you said about the ASPs, look for one humongous rally in Dell tomorrow after the presentation.

$90 anyone?

For the non-believers, the last 2 weeks have seen the stock move from weak hands into stronger hands. It's emboldened the shorts.

Anyone wanting to buy Dell tomorrow is going to have to pay up for it.

A couple weeks back someone posted a URL to (I think) Resellers News....the article claimed that ASP's ticked up slightly in April (and in March I believe)...

Dell states that price cuts in Q1 were (for the most part) a function of declining component prices....

(HP, however, claimed that they got killed in April on their ASP...
HP missed their eight quarterly estimate in nine quarters)

(Eckhard Pfeiffer tells analysts things are fine, and then two weeks later that CPQ will not make money in the quarter)

Dell is stating that ASP's are rising again...

I believe Dell; MD and crew (as of yet) have not given me a reason to think otherwise.........We will hear confirmation soon....Tnx for your post.......Great buying opportunity in the next few weeks (days?hours?)

AL, thanks for the Lehman Bros. info. It's a nice to hear it. BTW, do you have this Lehman report or how did you hear about that?

Goldman Sachs (the Big Boy) visited DELL CFO yesterday as reported to First Call. Dell "remained optimistic on the outlook, citing low penetration rates, new technology, and continued consolidation toward the top five vendors."
"DELL reiterated its broad based strength from both a product and geographical perspective highlighting the significant opportunity in notebooks, servers, and workstations and the ASP and margin support a mixer rich would provide."
GSCO has the power on Wall Street to get the straight story so their
it is.
