Cyrellis's "peek" at the E3 3D party . This article is a must read! The usual stuff on G200, PVRSG, TNT, and S3 Savage. The interesting part is their take on the Banshee demo. If true, the Banshee will not be 3DFX's earnings hero. Here is a clip: >3Dfx Banshee Mum's the word when it comes to the Banshee, locked-down Non-Disclosure Agreements were signed by everyone that got to sit down and take a look at an alpha version of the upcoming Banshee behind closed doors. We can say this: 3Dfx is a very strong company that has a great pedigree for high performance 3D solutions. However, The Voodoo2 will probably remain the high-end choice for 3D gaming fans. The Banshee will most likely appeal greatly to its possible target buyer, that is the entry-level/medium range gamer who considers cost to be as big of a concern as performance. (Don't you just love all of the "possible" and "most likely" comments I had to insert above to keep this baby Johnny Cochran free?). We'd love to tell you more about the Banshee, but it's up to 3Dfx as to when everyone can legally disclose more information. On a final note, please remember the following: 3Dfx will not disappoint gamers with a product that performs poorly. This is our opinion, based on the track record of 3Dfx, and of course not on anything that we may have happened to of seen at E3, or does it in any way refer to the 3Dfx product known as "Banshee" *whew* :) . As far as when you can expect a beta-review, I would say that late August, early September is looking good for now. We'll keep you posted.< . This is the first eyewitness report on Banshee. It sounds a lot like what the Rush card was to the V1. TDFX needs to do better to compete with the next generation cards IMHO.cyrellis.com
