OH my Dwight I know I am in trouble if you and I agree on something

Something tells me you've read some of my posts on other threads, :-)))

I suspected that AT's point was as you said, but I think that it is simplistic to assume what a government Dept's intentions are, based on some singular event or action. Actually another reason for increasing the H1 quota (and much more realistic, IMO) is that the H1 system is evidently almost hopelessly backlogged because of the way in which holders of H1 visas are stuck in a political situation which is kind of a tug-of-war of US interests: the need and willingness to permit foreign nationals to temporarily live and work in the US via the H1 visa, and the need and willingness of the US Dept of Labor to protect American workers.

ever heard of women kidnapped and sold into white slavery....

not specifically no, though it wouldn't surprise me. Tell me more.

and did you hear about those chicks that were held hostage...or so they claim...but the Sultan of Brunei...

Nope I didn't. The poor things..probably were forced to live in luxury...and I don't even want to hear of what sexual issues were forced upon them. Is there justice anywhere...-GG-

btw, I am also a member of the slave phenomenon.

Yeah? Okay. Well I'm simply speechless. -GG- What can I say; you seem pretty happy. Ever read "Rascals in Paradise" and "Tales of the South Pacific" by James Michener? Details there of how the slave trade moved from the Atlantic to the South Pacific. But in the South Pacific, the slavers were more direct in their methods of acquring their human merchandise...One particular slaver had a crafty method: his men would dress up as priests, then they would announce a revival gathering in a small island village. As soon as the would-be native revival attendees were gathered, the priest's garb was thrown off and pistols were branished...I think that particular slaver was either thrown overboard and drowned by a rival slaver, or he threw over and drowned one of his rivals....don't remember exactly. "Ethics" weren't really touted in the slave trade. -G-
