<<<Barb, ENMD is nm in Datek (I do not know the reason).>>>

Yes, and they're rejecting short sell orders for that reason, not because of lack of shares. I don't care what the message says, one would have been told Datek couldn't borrow CFON this morning when the stock was under 5, but a couple of hours later I had no problem adding to my CFON short at 6 5/16. KTEL is marginable if you want to go long, but comes up with a different message than the NM's.

<<<BTW, what is the best broker for options trading in your opinion? Are you using Dreyf? How it's going?>>>

Datek. I swore off trading options late last year. <g>

<<<Could you please post text or link to the rule that prohibit short sale of below 5$>>>

I do believe the Nasdaq limit is $4 or 4 1/16, it's just the common "house rule" of most brokers to not allow under 5. I could be wrong about that.

Barb

E*Trades Short Sale Requirements (from swww.etrade.com )

Short Sale Requirements

You must have a margin account. Please see The Margin Account.

E*TRADE must be able to borrow the shares for you in the first
place.

The security being sold short must be a marginable security
valued at $5 or more per share.

The trade can be executed only after an uptick (or zero-plus tick
for listed stocks).

Short positions are subject to buy-in at any time if E*TRADE
cannot continue to borrow the security.
