Steve, I completely understand where you are coming from. I too added to my stock at the $30 price and purchased them Tues. May 26th to make sure I would qualify for the dividend.

It is my understanding that some consider the settlement date to be the day following the day of the actual sale and others maybe the third day. My brokerage firm considers the 2nd day as settlement date.

Dusty :o)

Well let me tell you ... as long as you are buying I do not see where you can loose. It is those that are selling that are going to be ticked. Ignorance of the SEC law may not be an excuse. Any broker will tell you that until the x date arrives any thing you buy will get the extra shares.

SO at the end of the day I bought more. Hey since I am long I can;t be hurt. only ones that can have a problem is those that are selling. Plus the price is low as compared to last week.

Again inderstanding the SEC rules makes you money and investors can win.

SC,
I asked the question on Tuesday about the settlement date v. purchase date that you responded to. My broker had told me that the purchase date (Friday) was the critical time for getting the dividend. However, since there was/is such confusion, regarding all these press releases, SEC rules, I decided to buy on Tuesday to be on the safe side, following your post of the information that you received. Granted that I could have gotten a better price on Thursday, in the long run, if our product is what we hope, we will still have gotten our common at a greatly reduced price to its actual value. The last thing that we need is an internecine warfare amongst ourselves. Just my humble opinion, but I think that I still got a bargain on Tuesday.

Mike
