Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:PCLE), today announced the miroMOTION DC30 plus
for Mac OS(R) computers, which brings the company's award-winning
non-linear video capture technology to the creative professional using
the Apple platform.
miroMOTION DC30 plus supports Apple's QuickTime 3.0(R), and comes
bundled with Adobe Premiere(R). The miroMOTION DC30 plus is a
cost-effective, high quality non-linear digital video editing and
capture solution, that will sell for under $1,000 (US.)

Compared to the three megabyte per second capture rate of the
original miroMOTION DC30, the plus version supports capture rates as
high as eight megabytes per second. Further, hardware acceleration is
supported during "make movie" and "preview" modes in Adobe's Premiere,
dramatically reducing drawing and rendering times. The miroMOTION DC30
plus is an ideal solution for professional and semi-professional video
enthusiasts who create industrial, commercial, educational, corporate
and training tapes, and high-quality personal videos.
With PCI bus mastering technology and improved data rates up to 8
MB per second (depending on hardware configuration), the miroMOTION
DC30 plus offers 4:2:2 YUV TrueColor support and Motion-JPEG
compression up to 2.2:1. The miroMOTION DC30 plus processes full NTSC,
PAL(a) and SECAM(a) resolutions at full frame and field rates with
square pixels. It also supports CCIR 601 rectangular pixels, NTSC,
PAL(a) and SECAM(a) for broadcast-compatible video.
In addition, miroMOTION DC30 plus delivers optimized lip
synchronization with on-board audio support. Audio is CD-quality,
16-bit stereo at a 44.1 kHz sampling rate. Support for both S-video
(S-VHS, Hi8) and composite video (VHS, Video8) are standard.
For users who would also like a DV/1394 option, the miroMOTION
DC30 plus is compatible with Pinnacle's DV300. The DV300 permits a
direct, high-speed digital connection between DV camcorders and
desktop computers, and is built around an intuitive software
application, called DVTools, that offers frame-accurate DV camera
control, uncompromising video image capture quality, and the ability
to intelligently search digital videotapes.
The miroMOTION DC30 plus comes bundled with Adobe Premiere 4.2.1.
However, miroMOTION DC30 plus customers will be entitled to receive a
free upgrade to Adobe Premiere version 5.0, when that version becomes
available later this quarter directly from Adobe.
