Daytrading ideas: futures are up strongly at 0730 New York time, so it may be a day to go long on momentum stocks. Best candidates for a quick turnaround seem to be DELL, AOL and YHOO, with CDRD and RENT as maybes.

On the other hand, if momentum dies early, my short list includes AEOS (nasty article in Forbes about growth declining), COMS and SCMM.

SPY - I was whipsawed the last time I tried shorting the SPY. I may put in a limit order at 111 to account for a runup and turnaround in the same day. If I were willing to stare at the screen for 6 1/2 hours, I would go long at the open and try to guess when the momentum will shift. I probably won't, however.

Good luck everyone.
