Speaking of the Stock Genie and the WSJ, has anyone else noticed that the purple genie does some of his winking on the esteemed pages of WSJ Interactive? I wonder if he's gone back to his bottle now...

my assessment of the CNBC segment ...CNBC typically views internet companies very cynically and negatively...this was a piece specifically to the STOCK GENIE and had a negative slant to it..(I almost died when CNBC mentioned OXFORD HEALTH whose stock was slammed recently due to 'accounting irregularities' as one of the GENIE stocks to watch). PNLK was only mentioned imo because it was the stock pick of last month and I feel Glenn had alot of good things to say about ProNet but was probably cut out due to the segment was not on promoting PNLK. There was nothing negative said about PNLK but because the article was one of skepticism especially since they pointed out that STOCK GENIE is merely a paid advertisement conduit and implied as long as you can pay your 50 grand STOCK GENIE will promote you. In a way it is false advertising because innocent investors won't scroll through all the small print to find it is an ad vs a company or analysts true feeling of the value of a company . The good thing about showing PNLK is it did mention it as an import/export website and showed the site so it received visability to the curious who may have never heard of PNLK.
The true strength of this company will be over the next several months. I know as investors we want instant results but PNLK must work on its upgrades and proactive marketing and consumer usability both on the domestic and international front. I am looking fwd to Glenn's PR reports and the continued input of actual users like Buckeye to keep us all informed.

Good post. CNBC is a pumper and dumper itself too! And a big one. Do you remember Mr. Dorfman? Maaannn, what a scam artist he was. If you buy anything on CNBC recommendation, be ready to dump it the next day. Better yet, just not touch it IMO. If I hold a stock CNBC makes news of, I'd sell it. Perfect contrarian signal.

There has been a power shift from TV to Internet and it will only accelerate by time. TV people started to get nerveous consciously or sub-consciously. That may also explain the motive behind their questioning Web based operations.

Malko ... you have an interesting take on things and I am far more suspicious that you are - though you are probably enjoying your ICVI gains !!.I didn't see the report on CNBC so cannot comment. However I think that CNBC did everyone a service by letting us all know that these 'recommendations' can be bought, and therefore, IMHO, have no relevance or credibility. Whist CNBC may sometimes look through coloured glasses, I would rather trust information they give out than anything heard on the internet.

As for the internet investment society ... well I've seen more lies and dishonesty spouted by individuals on the SI threads than I care for. Also, there suddenly seems to be a whole bunch of new internet services advising stock picks. Call me a cynic, but my assumption is that if they are not getting paid for the companies they support, they at least take a position in the stocks prior to their 'recommendation' and probably sell it shortly thereafter, after the initial peak. I think there are some great people on SI ... but most are just looking after their own interests from what I've seen.

As for adding something to the companies because we buy the stock ... I just don't understand why that is. If PNLK doesn't produce the goods then everyone will sell the stock. If they do execute people will buy the stock. If, for instance, the company issues more shares then they will raise further capital ... I don't believe that the the share price has quite the effect for BBOTC's in terms of any leverage ..... especially as there's no certainly it will remain at this level anyway. It's nice to think that one is perhaps in the next Dell or Microsoft at the beginning, and everyone likes to think of themselves as investors. But I am sure that you have sold out of more BB stocks than you currently hold and if you look at their stock price now, you are probably glad you did. I think at this time, all the internet community serves to do is add momentum to BBOTC stocks ... and that more than 50% of people who buy the latest 'hot stock' haven't done any .. and I mean any, due diligence. I don't believe that this is particularly healthy situation ... but its one of the games in the current market !!

In any event ... it takes all points of view to make a market and I wish I had your enthusiasm ... keep it up and good luck to all !
