A lot of chatter about this firm or that firm, DLJ specifically.
Hopefully everyone knows that DLJ makes markets, is a huge player in OTC and listed stocks. hopefully everyone understands the importance of the status a firm takes in the transaction.
look at yamner.com go to Yamner lIbrary and look
for pages on Agency vs. Principal.
There is more to it than $9.99 trades...ifyou just want to have fun trading lots of 100 shares for $9.99 on the same size, no problem, but you should 100% know what you are paying through direct commissions or execution quality when you deal with a principal firm.

What does it mean -->

I use DLJ Direct. I like that you can trade one side of a stock all day for the commission

to trade one side of a stock...

I know what one commission is (at least I think I do :-)
