Ed: Special sessions are very unpopular with legislators. Given the fact that SC has an unusually long session (6 months) and that many Senators are really POed at Beasley (for things other than video poker) AND that a move to ban did not come close to passing the Senate, I can't imagine a special session would be successful for Beasley.

Ed,

I suppose it is conceivable that a compromise of sorts could have been discussed for the present scenario (no court decision prior to the end of the present session). Anything is possible in politics. This, of course is just idle speculation on my part as I have not spoken with anyone involved.
