What I think is funny is that people really think the Baby Bells are going to spend money on equipment that will allow Sprint to put them out of the Long distance market. Get real there is nothing in this deal that will net the Baby Bells additional income if anything it will cost them money that will in the end benefit Sprint.

Charger-
The technology "FastBreak" was developed in house by SPrint engineers.
Cisco, will be a big winner here, along w/ Lucent and Nortel because
they will be the main equipment suppliers. It looks like PAIR is a big
loser here, because "Fastbreak" appears to make ADSL irrelevant.

This is what I gathered from reading the Wall ST. Journal Article.

If anybody else has another opinion, please I would like to hear it.
Remember though, PAIR has other products-like small subscriber products ie. PG FLex, that demand should remain very strong for--even
with this new technology

Sprint announcement is definitely killing PAIR...I don't fully understand the implications
of the development, but it sounds like the new Sprint network could make DSL
technology unnecessary. Anybody out there got a grip on Sprint's technology and who
the hell makes it?

The Sprint annoucement was prior to market open. I do not see a correlation. Any other ideas? Does Cisco do DSL?
