Although I was not present at the 97 AGM and therefore do not know what business plan was presented, I read yesterday's announcement as an expansion of a previously set business plan (?).
Grant Robertson (from Buy Low Sell High) seems to have the same interpretation, and is speculating this may be somewhat confirming rumours to the effect that TCT is trying to integrate vertically by absorbing some suppliers, which he (Grant) thinks the OEM's see as a prerequisite for any potential large size contract. While this last part is speculation on his part, it would make sense that an OEM would want a certainty that a supplier can deliver on a contract. It would be nice if this additional(?)expansion was the result of discussions between an OEM and Blaine (here is to hoping!).
Nathan: can you please confirm whether the AGM 97 business plan included some provision for vertical integration? Thanks.
Cheers.
