Zacks has 63.12% owned by institutions. They also rate DEC a "Strong Buy", yet rate Compaq a "Sell".

S&P has 55% and gives DEC 3 stars (HOLD). S&P's report is a week older than Zacks.

Smart money says it is a landslide in favor of CPQ, maybe 5 to 1 in favor. remember that a lot of these are mailed in so the votes are already being counted, and some info is leaking out. DEC shareholders are not brain-dead I guess, except for a few disgruntled types who apparently a bird in the bush is worth 2 in the hand.
