AAPL financially solid - MSFT uses MacOS X as a DOJ defence

AAPL's Sr. Director Martin's positive AAPL balance sheet evaluation may confirm MSFT's 9/8/98 date with the DOJ is delaying INTC Rhapsody .

" Martin said that Apple's forthcoming convergence of Rhapsody and
MacOS technology, due to reach the market next year as MacOS X
(Ten) was promising enough for Microsoft to use it in its
courtroom defence, proposing it as a viable competitor for
Windows NT. "

Martin confirms AAPL's market outlook and finances are solid in face of a MSFT break-up:

" But if Microsoft did fall under the legal chainsaws, Apple, now
restored to vigor and with the best balance sheet in the US computer
industry, would continue to progress. The recently announced
consumer-level iMac would be developed and enhanced to become a
spectacular success in the consumer and education markets.

"We have $US1.6 billion in cash reserves right now," he said. "That
could be as high as $3 billion a year from now."

AAPL's 5/11/98 confusing OS pronouncements are part of its waiting game and notice PIXAR is mentioned . We may see a CEO soon .

The NeXT shoe may drop as INTC faces a FTC suit:

INTC's Merced preannouncement to obtain OS contracts was an abusive activity IBM was sued for by the FTC . AAPL may have good partners in IBM and MOT after all .
