Junnie...

WOW is somewhat frustrating. But, IMO, you'll be just as frustrated with any of the others. Each of these programs is powerful and complex. It will take some time to learn any of them.

As I've said earlier, I have been a WOW user for several years. I've made it do some pretty impressive things... once or twice. For the most part these days, it's really little more than an expensive charting program. I don't do scans at all with it anymore. Although, I may go back to that, the jury is still out. I'm trying a different approach to "scanning".

I think the most important thing to realize is that you only have to learn this "once". After you've created the directories, built the templates, created the systems to test, etc., you never have to learn how to do that again. In fact, you can forget about it and just steal the first one you "learned" on and reuse it. Reuse all of it!

I'm not at all certain that the way I use WOW is the best I can do. But, as they say, "it works for me". I've saved hundreds and hundreds of charts, built no less than 29 different chart groups and on and on. Yet, I really only run ONE scan. That's a simple thing I do each night on the 30 Industrials. The scan tells me how many are up and how many are down. Info I use to keep a separate Advance/Decline line on the DJIA. Been doing it for years and I'm not even certain of its usefulness. But, WOW does it in about 5 seconds and it's done.

WOW is my third or fourth charting software. I nearly went to MS a couple of years ago, but thought better of it. WOW does all I ask it to do and would do far more, I just don't ask.

Richard has suggested using a data supplier like Quotes Plus. Their software does the scan for you in what appears to me to be much simpler programming language. You might consider that alternative, then use the results of that scan to "X-Ray" in WOW.

Stick with it! I'll help where I can.
