from the same post No 76
"According to data from California's Kaiser Family
Foundation, 45 percent of parents are "not at all
likely" to go out and buy a TV or a set-top box
equipped with a V-chip in the next year or two. A
further 24 percent said they were "not too likely" to do so. "
No investors in their wildest dreams expected 100% of parents to go out and invest. It would take a long time to even supply the 31% of parents that were not mentioned. As far as the general buying population is concerned, a poll would mean more if it is taken after product is on the market and they have been exposed to TVL's well planned (hopefully)media blitz IMO.
If only 1% of parents ordered a set top box for immediate delivery TVL would have to up the production rate to supply in the near term

Where was the Kaiser group when the FCC was finalizing ratings and were accepting input from interest groups and parents? Or could it be that interest groups made their recommendations, but the FCC did not listen to them? For participants in the survey, are the current ratings better than no ratings? Just some thoughts.
