<Robotic Vision Systems Inc. (ROBV) 5 -1/4: Gruntal & Co. maintains "hold" rating on machine vision supplier for the semiconductor and electronics industry after the company wins patent suit in court; court found that View Engineering, a unit of General Scanning (GSCN 14 7/16 -9/16) had infringed on ROBV method of measuring coplanarity of unpopulated ball grid array packages; feels that outcome may have limited effect; expects company to lose $0.20 in FY98 but to earn $0.18 a share in FY99.....>

Have you heard anything further about suits for and against ESI around machine vision? Seems like they had been sued and counter sued General Scanning also. Do you know if they had also been sued by Robotic Vision?

It looks like they are in the same area of vision as ESI, especially now that they include AISI with such a strong customer in KLIC who are major players in ball grid array packaging.

Mark
