Hi Mohan Ref: Taxes in India.. In India we don't have a SSN. We have a Permanent Account Number in India , but that is only if a person files taxes. But LK Advani is trying to come out with a single card which can used for multiple uses as voter card, Tax Id, Ration Card etc. Then it may become easier to enforce taxes. Most of the farmers and businessman show losses always and they evade taxes. Lallu Prasad Yadav opposed it when TN Seshan tried to start a voter ID card. :=). Regards Ravi
