Options...buy time

Thanks Al. I did reflect on the PEP story, but that didn't help my expired call. The real lesson, is to buy time (4-6 months instead of 2-3), and to buy in-the-money options. ITM's have less premium, and can be held right to expiration -- again more time. Had I bought PEP July calls, I might still make a profit, or lose less.
