I'm not certain how long Intel has been targeting, the video game industry, but I know that they had pushed for the integration of Klamath (Pentium II) in coin operated video game machines over one year ago (MMX was started over 2 years ago, I would expect - heck it debuted around the 1997 Super Bowl).

I can't discern if AMD has a development time advantage, but this segment is in Intel's sights. AMD will not find this is a market where they evade competition and can establish good margins.

Just my read on the situation.
