The ultimate winner is very unlikely to be xDSL phone lines in my opinion. The pipe is just too narrow.

And they are going to have issues with the quality of the copper, I believe.

Furthermore, I think cable modems will be far less useful as more and more people use them. Still sounds like people will all be sharing the same bandwidth. And, it will be only a short time before people start hosting their own websites on their computers, and asymetrical services don't work so well that way. (which xdsl and cablemodems are- the assumption is built in) Sats don't have to be asymetrical.

Just some thoughts rather than a disagreement. I think you are right that there will be huge demand.
