No, I guess that's just absurd.

Its not absurd because it is possible, however it is not what has happened. Java programmers will outnumber C programers in 2 years if the trend continues... and at this point, right now, it seems there has been a java backlash for the last year, yet its still growing like gangbusters.

The hardware manufacturer also - get this - wants you to give up your machine with a hard disk so you can't store anything locally

I kind of like that paradigm. I like being anywhere in the world and have access to my "stuff".

Look at SI, all my subjects and last read are stored on the server. Very conveeeennnnnieeeeent.
