From what I've read ATM is still alive and well,
but it has it's own niche and Gigabit Ethernet has it's
own space also. They both can live together for a while,
and then newer technology will lead them both in the
direction for which they'll both be best suited. I think
there's a future for both. And COMS seems to have all bases
covered anyways.
