Before a quarter of the regulars, who contributed three quarters of the hypes on the AMD's twin threads, 'fouled out', AMD threads were hopping round the clock. Today, even the most die-hard veterans just had experienced too much disappointment from quarter to quarter and from hypes to hypes. There is only so much some one can take. The ones left are the ones who have no positions in AMD but who are just showing so much hatred and jealousy to AMD's archrival, Time Traveler means role model.

Congratulations shorting AMD from $30 to $20,
Time Traveler

The thread is quiet because most of the people who are serious about this stock have taken their discussion elsewhere.

I agree with you that AMD is in a good position to bounce; there's downside protection because serious resistance is just below current levels ($17-$18). I'm not sure the bounce will happen until after quarter end, though, so you you might need to wait a bit.
