RE: Y2k problem and "Government is way behind and could be one of the largest problems."

Rumor has it that the government is having a hard time holding on to its IT professionals who are capable of fixing the Y2k problem. These government employees, who receive the generally low salaries typical of government work, are being approached by private companies and headhunters with $100,000+ job offers. Many feel overwhelmed by the government's problems and lack of funding, are afraid that they will take the blame when the government's computer system experiences Y2k, and are happily taking the money and running.
