Frank, as usual an insightful post. For what it's worth, my take, after conferring with Sprint insiders, Cisco insiders, Nortel insiders and relying on my years watching this industry:

20% substance
80% b*llsh*t

The vision of home and office being wired this way could happen, but in 2020. Don't cancel your multiple POTs lines or cable modem just yet.
