[update on SOCR] I had previously reported that SOCR did not appear to be sufficiently addressing multiple OS platforms. A release out today shows they are taking steps to address this deficiency

Scan-Optics' New 7400 Series Scanner Receives Best of Show Award at AIIM

This is not a purchase recommendation, but since I had commented negatively, I thought I should update the thread.
Some good features, but since there is no pricing info, can't coment much more. In our healthcare network, we were not able to rol out document imaging out to many users since SMS only supported high cost scanners. If this scanner is priced in the several Ks, it won't offer
the type of solution hospitals need.

[LARS update] Whoever picked LARS as a short candidate sure made a good pick. I had not been following LARS closely, except for product development. They have some good stuff, but the loss of their biggest account due to merger may end up as a killer. Congradulations
to whoever saw problems in the chart. Scott

[ Review: Short Update ]

Here's a little update of the stocks profiled and reviewed by Scott Davis and I;

Stocks in a Downtrend:

Cumulative price action for all nine issues: - 1.08%

Stocks in an Uptrend:

Cumulative price action for both issues: + 3.06%

While one day's price action is insignificant in statistical terms, today's results may point to the importance of holding only issues that are in an uptrend, not a downtrend. Given today's weakness in the broad market, it is important to note that the issues in the uptrend held their own ground, and even advanced.

Regards,

Rainier
