The only names above that will be "around" by year 2000 will be CSCO, COMS and possibly ASND. All the other players will be acquired including the smaller ones not listed like Digi, Shiva, HLIT, et al. (I think ASND will want to be a big fish and therefore not be eaten by someone else.)

Remember, two weak players combined rarely make a strong entity. So place your bets with this in mind when the consolidation wave hits. Not many have a crystal ball and neither do I. But of course it doesn't matter as network stocks are for speculating anyways.
