My company was looking forward to using PNLK for export contacts in Europe; as it stands now, the site does not have any keyword search capability, which is integral to narrowing down searches. The information presented on each contact is also very limited and unsuitable for doing "real business". No one is going to do a SIC search, come up with 15 contacts that have limited information and then begin to do business with them. The lack of specifics on each contact also makes it difficult to conduct trade because you're going to waste a lot of time and resources if you don't know what each contact does and their only business class is labeled under a very broad SIC category. The search form also inexplicably rejects 3 digit SIC codes that are listed within PNLK's site. This is likely a problem with the search engine but still, a poorly designed element of the search engine that should have been fixed before the site went on-line. I have seen improvements in the site however. In the beginning of the site launch, no companies were even accessible outside the USA. In the past week, I have noticed that contacts in Europe have popped up though companies in Asia are still missing from the database. With this in mind, I have cancelled my trial membership though I hope to come back to the site in 4-6 weeks when improvements have been implemented. Since I have cancelled, I do not know what the news section that was added yesterday looks like but hopefully it is updated intra-day and not just at the end of every day. PNLK is also not the only player in this type of business. Interested parties should absolutely check out what Trade Compass, a privately held company, is doing. Their site is at www.tradecompass.com and is extremely well put together. Their contact list does not number in the millions but check out a contact, and you'll get a full business description, a list of all available contact numbers and even pictures of the company's products. Perhaps this is what PNLK aspires to but with the delays that I've seen in updating the site, I am not sure what to think since updating 2.75 million contacts is probably impossible due to their limited resources. As it stands, 2.75 million contacts sounds awfully impressive but when the information is presented in such a manner so as to be useless to trading companies, there is ultimately little value to anyone.
