vladimir--

yes, i think they are planning to get some of the local market, but they still have to interconnect with the RBOC COs. its really a mobile technology. besides, the price is way to high. i am a heavy phone user and my bills are rarely more than $90/month. and yes, i do have caller ID, voice mail, forwarding, etc.

on angel...when i first heard about it, i was really excited about it. it was supposed to be a dish you hooked to the side of your house, that would connect to a terrestrial tower, or to a concentrator on a building. it was supposed to be really fast and would replace your POTS and internet service, as well as soem video. but, it just wasnt economical to build out that kind of network, at least not right now.

the sprint deal? i dont think its quite as revolutionary as CNBC would have us believe. it sounds like what a lot of others have done. i think metromedia, or whatever kluge is involved with now, is doing much the same thing...establishing sonet rings in metro areas, then branching from that trunk. from a technology standpoint, its a yawn. from a business standpoint, its interesting, but not at all novel.

good luck to all,
trey

one more thing. i dont remember exactly, but i dont think PCS (which is what T wireless is using) supports baud rates fast enough to make the service usable. plus, would they provide a serial connection and AC jack for the phones?

no, i still think wired is the way to go, at least for now. if we start getting phased x-ray technology, thats a different story<G>.

good luck to all,
trey
