Brian, don't lose faith yet. Program trading could trigger a huge drop in stocks Thursday morning due to a trading imbalance in stock future and cash markets. Pay attention to overseas stock markets tonight if you can. However, with the key employment data coming out on Friday, traders could be reluctant to place sells until that data is released. After hours trading market in bonds is currently strong. Employment of less than 150,000 new jobs created would be bullish for bonds which should stabilize the stock market. Bank of Japan will intervent when the Yen exceeds 140 to the dollar. Gold is looking better and may or may not have bottomed, need to close above $300 first.
